CTrain & Transit

MAX Orange (Route 303) runs from Saddletowne west along 16 Avenue N to Brentwood station on the Red Line.

What to watch for in Northeast Calgary

  • Car dependence north of Saddletowne: sample condo addresses score 28 on Walk Score in Cornerstone, 26 in Redstone and 47 in Skyview Ranch.
  • Airport neighbour: Calgary International Airport's lands lie about a kilometre west of Saddle Ridge, Skyview Ranch and Redstone. Check flight paths and noise for a specific building.
  • Hail: the June 13, 2020 hailstorm hit northeast Calgary hard (Wikipedia's list of costly hailstorms, citing CBC News, puts damage at $1.2 billion or more). Ask about the building's insurance, deductible and any hail-related special assessments.
  • New supply: the City lists Skyview Ranch, Saddle Ridge, Cornerstone and Redstone as developing communities, and Cornerstone's median build year is 2022, so new condos keep competing with resales.
  • Older townhouses in Pineridge: most of its townhouse complexes date from the 1970s. Review the reserve fund study and who pays for roofs and siding.
