What to watch for in Eau Claire

Eau Claire flooded in June 2013. The 1.39 km Downtown Flood Barrier along the Bow, built for a 1-in-200-year flood, was completed in 2023, but ask about each building's flood history and insurance. The former Eau Claire Market site was cleared in 2025 for a Green Line station that is no longer in Phase 1, so its future use is undecided. Festivals at Prince's Island and Eau Claire Plaza bring summer crowds and noise.
